Expert plastic surgeons claim B9 has had a bubble-lift, a
neon job, radar implants, and work done on his programming
bay. He also sports a dimpled torso knob – something not
present years ago. Does this make him the King of Poptronics
or the Prince of Plastic Surgery? Heard enough about B9 and
all those cosmetic procedures? Some robots are so obsessed
with their appearance that plastic surgery becomes an
addiction. We asked plastic surgeon, Dr. Zackery Smith, how
he would react if B9 came to his clinic. He said he would be
extremely uneasy, and that he would likely refer him to a
different plastic surgeon. Doctor Smith told B9-Today the
warning signs of patients addicted to plastic surgery: a
long history of previous procedures and multiple surgeons
combined with unrealistic expectations. We wanted to know
which type of robots are more prone to overdo cosmetic
procedures. Dr. Smith said it is typically insecure robots
with low self-esteem. They don’t have concrete goals
because just don't know what they want. In fact, they may
undergo so many procedures in hopes of pleasing someone else
like an owner or a parent. Doctor Smith reminds us that
plastic surgeons need to carefully probe the genuine reasons
why robots seek this kind of surgery. Excessive cosmetic
surgery won't solve problems, it only gives you new ones.
